Dig Dig Dig Camp

Don't know which camp to sign up for? Email sutherla@uwgb.edu

This camp is designed to help players master the fundamentals of passing and defense, focusing on both individual and team defense techniques. Ideal for all positions—including liberos, defensive specialists, outside hitters, and anyone looking to play all six rotations—this camp provides the skills needed to excel on defense.

What You'll Learn:

  • Individual Defensive Skills
    • Develop quick reaction time, improve reading the hitter, and enhance your ability to pass under pressure. You'll focus on techniques like digging, platform positioning, and proper footwork for effective ball control.
  • Team Defensive Strategies
    • Learn how to communicate and move as a cohesive unit to block and dig opponents' attacks. Emphasis on positioning, covering tips and off-speed shots, and maintaining court awareness.
  • Serve Receive and Passing Mechanics
    • Master passing techniques to provide accurate, controlled passes under challenging conditions. Focus on hand positioning, platform angle, and adjusting to different serves.
  • Defensive Coverage and Transition
    • Learn how to quickly transition from defense to offense, whether it’s setting up a counter-attack or executing a fast break.

Campers will be grouped by age and skill level to ensure personalized instruction and targeted growth. Each camper will receive a free gift!

There will be an hour break between 12pm-1pm, please be sure to bring a lunch!
